About
Faculty member at the University of Würzburg specializing in the foundations, applications, and advanced methods of Earth Observation. In his teaching, he covers a broad spectrum ranging from basic remote sensing principles to applied geospatial analysis and advanced techniques. A particular focus lies on the use of drone-based remote sensing, which enables high-resolution data acquisition for environmental and landscape monitoring. His research aims to analyze environmental processes through time-series analysis, as well as to map and characterize habitats with high thematic precision.
A further central aspect of his work is the derivation of biophysical parameters—such as vegetation structure, biomass, or surface properties—from satellite, airborne, and UAV-based Earth Observation data. Through the integration of innovative sensors and analytical methods, his work contributes to improved ecological understanding and evidence-based environmental management.
