Damaris Matten is Coordinator of the elite graduate program Ecological forecasting within the Elite Network of Bavaria. Damaris Matten is at the University of Bayreuth since the beginning of 2026 at the Chair of Disturbance Ecology as postdoctoral researcher. She has completed a BSc in Biology at the Freie University Berlin, a MSc in Applied Ecology at the Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences and obtained a PhD in Ecology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
Her research focuses on understanding and conserving biodiversity across spatial scales using spatial phylogenetics and large-scale biodiversity data to reveal patterns of diversity from flora to fauna.
